Spanish A: Literature (SL/HL)

CHAPTR House of Education provides expert tutoring for students enrolled in IB Spanish A: Literature at both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). This course focuses on the in-depth study of literary works, developing students’ ability to analyze complex texts and express sophisticated interpretations in formal academic Spanish.

Students study a broad range of literary genres—including novels, plays, poetry, short stories, and essays—from across the Spanish-speaking world, including Spain, Latin America, and global Hispanic communities. Through personalized tutoring, students learn how writers use language, narrative voice, symbolism, and structure to convey meaning and reflect cultural, historical, and philosophical perspectives.

Tutoring supports students across the IB core areas of exploration:

  • Readers, Writers and Texts
  • Time and Space
  • Intertextuality: Connecting Texts

Higher Level students receive additional tutoring support for the HL Essay, which requires sustained literary analysis and independent academic research.
