Summer at CHAPTR

Summer is not a pause—it is an opportunity.

It is a time to rest, to travel, and to step away from the rhythm of the academic year. But it is also a rare moment of space—space to think more deeply, to read with intention, and to develop skills that are often set aside during the school year.

At CHAPTR, we design this time with purpose. Our academically rigorous, one-on-one programs are created for students who want to strengthen their thinking, refine their academic abilities, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Fully online and globally accessible, our Summer Programs connect students with exceptional educators while allowing for flexibility and balance. Each program is individualized, intellectually engaging, and designed to support lasting academic growth.

Global Language Immersion (Grades 6–12)

Engage with language at a higher level.

Language learning within the IB is both academic and intellectual. It requires not only fluency, but the ability to analyze, interpret, and express ideas with precision.

The CHAPTR Global Language Immersion Program offers a highly personalized approach for students who want to advance their language skills with depth and intention. Through one-on-one mentorship, students work with certified IB teachers, examiners, and native-speaking specialists—gaining access to a level of expertise rarely available in traditional settings.

For many of our students, this program is also a moment of exploration and clarity. In international families, it is common for students to grow up with multiple languages and to face important choices when entering the IB. Summer offers the ideal moment to explore a language more deeply—understanding not only their level, but whether it is the right academic and personal fit.

Students can return to this process over several summers, gradually building confidence, fluency, and depth. By the time they begin the IB, they are not starting from the basics—they already have a strong foundation and a clear sense of direction.

Whether strengthening an existing language or beginning a new one, students develop accuracy, confidence, and a deeper understanding of language as an academic discipline. The program supports both IB Language A and Language B pathways, as well as long-term multilingual development.

Languages offered include Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and more.

Academic Writing Immersion (Grades 6–11)

Build your voice over time.

Writing is not simply a skill—it is the foundation of academic success. From early analytical responses to extended essays and university applications, students are expected to think critically and express their ideas with clarity and depth.

Strong writing, however, is not developed in a single year. It is built gradually, through reading, reflection, and sustained intellectual practice.

The CHAPTR Writing Immersion Program is designed for students in Grades 6–11 who want to begin this process early and with intention. Students can start as early as the summer after Grade 6, giving them the opportunity to build these skills steadily over several years rather than under pressure in the final stages of high school.

Through one-on-one mentorship, students learn to read analytically, think independently, and construct well-structured arguments—skills that support success across the IB curriculum and beyond.

A central element of the program is the development of a personal academic writing portfolio. Students produce thoughtful, structured work that reflects their intellectual growth over time. By starting early, they are not preparing for college essays at the last minute—they are building the insight, discipline, and voice that strong writing requires.

Each student works closely with a mentor from a top U.S. university, receiving detailed, individualized feedback and guidance throughout.

Program includes

  • 10 individual one-on-one mentorship sessions (60 minutes each)
  • Analytical and academic writing development
  • Reading comprehension and critical analysis
  • Structured argumentation and essay writing
  • Individualized feedback and mentorship
  • Creation of a personal academic writing portfolio

The program runs throughout the summer, from mid-May through mid-August, with flexible scheduling.

Who teaches this program

Students are matched with mentors who are studying at or have graduated from Ivy League and top U.S. universities. These mentors bring not only academic excellence, but also a deep understanding of writing at the highest level and how to guide students in developing their own voice.
