Arabic
A clear, simple pathway for growing confident Arabic learners
At CHAPTR House of Education, students build their Arabic skills gradually and confidently through individualized tutoring. Our approach focuses on practical communication, strong reading and writing foundations, and cultural awareness. Students progress step by step from early beginner skills in Middle School to more independent communication by Grade 10.
How Students Build Arabic Skills (Grades 6–10)
1. Foundations - Beginner Level (A1)
Students begin by learning the Arabic alphabet, core sounds, and essential reading and writing skills. They practice simple everyday communication such as introducing themselves, describing familiar objects, talking about their family, and understanding short, predictable phrases.
How tutoring helps
- Step-by-step introduction to the alphabet and pronunciation
- Clear modeling and repetition
- Simple conversations and short activities
- Visuals, stories, and exercises to build confidence
- A solid foundation for future language development
2. Expanding Communication — High Beginner (A1–A2)
Students begin forming longer sentences and expressing personal preferences. They learn vocabulary for school life, food, hobbies, and daily routines. Reading skills grow as they practice short descriptions, lists, and simple paragraphs.
How tutoring helps
- Guided speaking practice and role-play activities
- Gradual introduction to basic grammar structures
- Short reading passages to develop comprehension
- Activities that encourage students to speak more naturally
3. Building Conversation Skills — Elementary Level (A2)
Students begin describing past experiences, making future plans, and talking about familiar events in more detail. Writing expands into short paragraphs, and listening skills improve through teacher-modeled dialogue and simple audio/video materials.
How tutoring helps
- Structured conversation practice
- Support with past and future verb forms
- Vocabulary building across familiar themes
- Coaching to help students write clear, organized paragraphs
4. Developing Independence — Early Intermediate (A2–B1)
Students learn to express opinions, compare ideas, describe events in sequence, and understand longer written texts. They explore cultural topics, learn more connectors and descriptive phrases, and begin using more complex sentence structures.
How tutoring helps
- Practice with extended conversation and clear self-expression
- Strategies for reading comprehension and interpreting longer texts
- Support with multi-paragraph writing (stories, descriptions, reflections)
- Listening practice using accessible, age-appropriate authentic materials
Why This Approach Works
- Clear, level-based progression
- Balanced development of all language skills
- Personalized pacing and tailored support
- Strong foundation in both language and cultural understanding
- Confidence-building practice at every stage
